With a total land mass of 2,973,190 square kilometres, the vast plains of India due to its physiography, is divided into ten regions - the Indo-Gangetic Plain, the Central Highlands, the Great Indian Desert and the Rann of Kutch are a part of it. The path of the holy Ganges as it travels through the rich and fertile Indo-Gangetic plain passes through the holy hindu cities of Rishikesh, Haridwar, Varanasi, Mathura and Brindavan.
The state of Madhya Pradesh , the geographic heart of India is home to a large tribal population . The state’s rugged north is famous for the Khajuraho temples, while the east is home to two of India’s finest game parks – Bandhavgarh and Kanha. The scenic Malwa plateau in the southwest has the great Buddhist stupa of Sanchi.
Further west in the great plains of India is Gujarat and Rajasthan. Gujarat’s jain temples and intricately designed stepwells are architectural marvels whilst its natural wonders like the untouched beaches of Diu and the lion sanctuary at Gir can still be enjoyed. The vast plains of Kutch extend to Rajasthan , the sand dunes blending with the landscape. Rajasthan, perhaps the most popular destination in India has been synonymous for its colors, festivals , camels and palaces.
A symphony of traditions & harmony of nature – the colourful diversities of the great Indian Plains bear testimony to a glorious past and vibrant future.
